EPISODE PREMIERE: September 16, 2007
LOGLINE:
Johnny's (Anthony Michael Hall) visions of Walt (Chris Bruno) lead to a shocking discovery about Johnny's father, Herb Smith (Tom Skerritt), as secrets from the past are revealed.

SYNOPSIS:
Johnny (Anthony Michael Hall) finally has his hands on Walt's (Chris Bruno) computer, and is puzzled to find pictures of his “Wall of Doom” stored on the hard drive.  Johnny hasn't touched the wall since the fateful day of the Faith Heritage Festival, believing that the threat of Armageddon died with Malcolm Janus.  Walking down to his basement, he is hit with a vision of Walt on the phone with Jacinta (Nancy Helms), a woman who has information about Johnny's father, Herb Smith (Tom Skerritt).  Desperate to find out what Walt knew about his dad, Johnny tracks down Jacinta at the Garden of Grace.  He is stunned by the implications when she reveals his dad is psychic too.  But before she can answer any more questions, Jacinta is shot and dies in his arms.  It's apparent that someone is going to great lengths to keep him from the truth.  Determined to unravel the mystery, Johnny follows vague clues from his conversation with Jacinta and his cryptic visions of Walt, which lead him to St. Stephen's Monastery where he is surprised to find    Reverend Gene Purdy (David Ogden Stiers), who has been living there for months.

Purdy is desperate for an ally in Johnny, believing that the fire at Faith Heritage, Walt's death, Jacinta's death, the Coalition for a Better America, the mystery of Herb Smith, and Purdy's loss of his church and his faith are all linked somehow.  At first, Johnny is reluctant to trust him but ultimately, he agrees to let Purdy help him investigate.  Their search begins to uncover secrets that have been buried deep, secrets that have the power to change the past and the future of the Smith family.  Johnny also suspects that everything is related and it's only a matter of tracing the faded lines back to the biggest cover-up of all, the whereabouts of Herb Smith.  Meanwhile, at the Bannerman cabin, JJ and Stillson have been spending a lot of time together and are growing closer.  When a skewed game of cards gives JJ cause for concern, he can't explain to his mother why he now feels uneasy about Stillson.  Sarah overlooks JJ's sudden doubts and is ready to take a job in Washington working on Stillson's campaign.  But before she can officially accept the offer, Sarah gets a call that changes everything.  When she confronts Stillson, his true nature is revealed and JJ gets injured.  The Smith family secret comes full circle when Johnny and JJ have the same vision: Armageddon is back on.
