Shawn Piller serves as co-executive producer and co-creator on the sixth season of the USA Network original series THE DEAD ZONE, which premieres Sunday, June 17 at 10:00PM/9:00 Central.
Piller and his partner, Lloyd Segan, are also executive producers of the popular ABC Family drama "Wildfire," which recently concluded its third season and has been renewed for season four, as well that network’s new series "Greek," which is set to debut in July.
In early 2006, Piller/Segan signed an overall first-look deal with Lionsgate Television after many successful years working together. They currently have several projects in development.
His additional credits as a television writer include episodes of Star Trek: "The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Voyager," and the WB network pilot "Day One," which he co-wrote and co-produced with his father. Piller also produced the prototype for the AFI/Intel-sponsored enhanced television project for "Day One." He has sold several pilot/presentation scripts, including two as co-creator and two as producer under his deals with Granada Entertainment and Paramount Pictures.
Piller has also produced feature films, including "Too Pure" (Maxmedia; Tribeca Film Festival; Tokyo Film Festival 1999) and Michael Goorjian's "Oakland Underground" (Chicago Film Festival). In addition, he produced the short films "No Insurance" (L.A. Film Festival 1999) and "The Lonely Leave," based on the Dorothy Parker short story of the same name.
