FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 18, 2006
Tommy, the newest 4400 Fan of the Week, not only picked an ability but created an entire backstory for his 4400 character. Here is his entry:
I have been watching the show ever since I was up late one night typing a paper on stone tool analysis. I was in Iraq this summer and missed the premier of the 3rd season. I watched the marathon last week and cannot wait until season 4 in summer 2007.
If I was a 4400, I would have been an Army Ranger during Vietnam. While home on leave to visit my son in 1969, I disappeared. When I was returned in 2004, my son is now biologically 5 years older than me and is a Ranger Battalion Commander in Iraq.
When Tom and Diana are called in, they are informed that they need to pack their duffle bags and head to Iraq, a 4400 (me) has been arrested for murder of an Iraqi insurgent.
My 4400 ability is I can sense guilt, and once I do, I cause an overwhelming amount of fear to make that person confess. When [my character] rejoined the Army in '05, I joined a Ranger Battalion, in which my son is now also my commanding officer. He does not like the fact that Army Intel is using me for the purposes of interrogating suspected insurgents, and there is tension between him and me as I am a Captain and he is a Lt. Colonel.
After a thorough investigation, it is deemed by NTAC the death of the insurgent was accidental and not murder. I continue the fight in Iraq alongside (and under the command of) my son. Pretty cool ability, huh?
