Sheila Marshall

AGE: 31

HOMETOWN: Nacogdoches, Texas

CURRENTLY RESIDES: Austin, Texas

BIO: Shelia is a full-time singer/songwriter who plays the guitar. After earning a musical scholarship in college, she started a band, recorded two CDs, and has now been performing professionally for seven years. She is close to her family, and first met her husband when they were booked on the same show. Her biggest brush with fame (before now!) was being cast as a prostitute in a television movie opposite Gene Simmons of KISS. Her musical influences Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette.

QUOTE: "In five years, I see myself being a musician, touring with tour support and making great records. Right now, I'm writing songs about love and heartache. I love songs with a great hook and melody, whether they're sung by Patsy Cline or Roberta Flack. In fact, the only music that I don't like is 80s hair rock - it's just bad. I competed in the local competition for Nashville Star last year, so I'm very excited to have made it to episode one this year!"
