Jewels Hanson is your typical single, red-blooded, American female ... and PROUD of it. She likes boys, whiskey, motorcycles and Honky-Tonks.
From her musical beginnings singing at her church in Fremont, California, to performing in professional musical theater, Jewels has been performing her whole life. As a youth, she appeared as a regular on the CBS Television series "Child's Play", and in various theater productions. Her enthusiasm and athleticism won her the 1992 United Spirit Association National Champion Individual Crowd-Leader title.
This self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie is an advanced blue belt in Taekwondo, a scuba diver, motorcycle rider, and die-hard baseball fan. Combining her passion for music and sports, Jewels has performed the National Anthem at over 20 Major League Stadiums.
Currently you will find Jewels performing with her band, Appaloosa, at the San Francisco Bay Area country music venue, The Saddle Rack. Appaloosa plays nightly at The Saddle Rack, and opens for the many National acts that come through the Bay Area.

The craziest or most daring thing I have ever done...
I skydive, bungee jump, and ride motorcycles, which most people would consider pretty crazy. But I think the most daring thing I've ever done was to quit my stable, lucrative marketing career to go sing and write songs for a living!
What three things couldn't you live without?
My baby blanket. I've slept with it since the day I was born. My Bible. Diet Pepsi ... I'm addicted.
What is the worst job you've ever had?
I was a character at kid's parties. I was everything from Cinderella to the Pink Power Ranger. Sometimes it was really rewarding, but a lot of times, people were really mean and degrading. I never could quite conquer the whole balloon animal thing.
What is your favorite video game or board game?
I don't play video games, but I love Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit. I'm a Texas Hold-em freak.
What is your astrological sign?
I'm a sassy Sagittarius
Do you have any pets? If so, what types and what are their names?
We have a family dog named "Woody" -- He's a mutant Yorkie. His parents are 4 and 5 pounds, but somehow, he's 12 pounds. He's not fat, he's just large. He's a little pistol.
Hobbies outside of music?
I love camping, fishing, reading, cooking, baseball (Go A's!), motorcycles, and road trips!
