FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2009
My name is Agnieszka and I have all the Monk books including the episode guide book.
Watching Monk makes a lot of people happy. For some it's a hobby, for others it's almost a part of life; they don't know how they'll live after the show is going to end. The end is coming in big steps but I know I'll have books to look forward to. I not only have the books but also a Monk bobblehead and Monk pin (thanks to Teresa) and also an autographed photo of Tony Shalhoub.
I'm not like Monk at all when it comes to cleaning. My parents say I'm the opposite. Maybe it's true maybe it's not. If someone who isn't me cleans my room and does stuff their way, I just can't find myself in my own room. I feel like I'm in someone else's mess. I just need to mess things up in my own way so I can find pencils or clothes... but still I'm keeping my room clean. Everything has its place in my way.
I personally am like Monk in other way. I hate typos in books, magazines or in other written stuff like notes. If there's a typo or misspelled word I just can't help it and I need to 'fix' it. Unfortunately, if there's a typo or a missing letter in a billboard I can't make it my way and fix it. I need to walk away but it haunts me until the billboard is taken down. I was like that before Monk was aired in Poland. I think the show wasn't in production at that time yet.
Monk is funny in his own way. For all those years that had passed, I, as a fan, had seen the progress Monk's character was making and is still making. He'll be like Sherlock Holmes - one and only. I've realized that this show had and still has a good influence on me. I've met many very good people and become friends with a few too. I've made progress with my own fears, especially with the dentophobia.
Tony Shalhoub and rest of the cast does a great job. The producers and all the actors can be sure about one thing. They and the show will not be forgotten for many many years.
