FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 4, 2006
Our latest Monk Fan of the Week, Denise, is one of the three generations of Monk viewers in her household. Here is her entry...
My name is Denise and I come from three generations of Monk watchers. I watch Monk every week from Brooklyn, NY with both my mother Rosalie and my 18 year old son Michael. I love the mysteries and clues and look forward to “how” Monk solves cases each week.
I sympathize with Monk and feel sorry for him since I have many phobias myself. Adrian Monk has the neatest, cleanest house I’ve ever seen and I would have no problem living there! I relate to so many episodes. When Monk rode the NYC subways I felt so sorry for him. Since I ride the subways daily I can tell you that his fears were real ones. Being claustrophobic, I would have acted the same way Monk did in "Mr. Monk and the Panic Room."
I have not missed an episode yet and actually watch them over and over again. Whenever I have some time a Monk episode is watched! I became a fan in Season 4 when I first saw “Mr. Monk and the Other Detective.” I was hooked! I went out, bought all three seasons that I missed and haven’t stopped watching since.
I don’t have a favorite episode because I LOVE THEM ALL but one that I wish they would do a follow up on is “Mr. Monk and the Kid.” I can’t stop thinking about Tommy and how he is doing. It would be great to have him reunited with Adrian Monk. It was a very touching episode.
Season 5 is the best so far and I can’t wait for Friday evenings, the most enjoyable part of my week. I equally love the entire cast as much as Monk. It would not be the same without Capt. Stottlemeyer, Lt. Disher, Natalie Teeger, Dr. Kroger and Julie. My dream come true would be to walk on the set of Monk and meet everyone or for Monk to have a fan affair in NYC.
The ultimate Monk moment for me would be for Adrian Monk to solve Trudy’s murder! Thank you for all the enjoyment and entertainment that you bring. Congratulations to Tony Shalhoub for winning his 2006 Emmy Award, I couldn't be happier!
